How to Make a Paper Christmas Tree

Materials 

• Construction paper

• A variety of green tissue paper

• Glue stick

• Scissors

• Mini white pom-poms

• Scotch tape

• Hot glue (optional)

Step 1

These trees can be made in any size. To start, trace a circle using a bowl as a guide for a perfect circle shape, and then cut out the circle.

Step 2

Cut the circle in half.

Step 3

Roll the half-circle of paper into a cone and tape it in place with Scotch tape.

Step 4

Cut a long one-inch strip of tissue paper and make a series of small cuts at the bottom of the paper to create a piñata-like texture.

Step 5

Cover the cone with a glue stick.

Step 6

Starting from the bottom of the cone, adhere the tissue paper strip to the cone in a spiral fashion, overlapping each layer to create a shaggy tree.

Step 7

Apply glue to the top of the cone and place a pom-pom on top. If you want the pom-pom to last longer, you can use hot glue for this step.
