How to Make a Paper Star Tree Topper

Materials 

• 2 sheets of square paper, or any paper cut into a perfect square

• Hot glue 

• Twine

• Scissors

Step 1

Fold the paper in half horizontally, first one way then the other.

Step 2

Fold the paper diagonally in  both directions.

Step 3

Cut halfway up each diagonal fold just made, from the outer edge towards the center (there should be 4 cuts).

Step 4

Fold each cut side towards the uncut center to make star points. Glue the cut sides down, and repeat all the way around.

Step 5

Adjust the points of the star and set aside.

Step 6

Repeat steps 1-5 with the second sheet of paper. You will now have two halves of the star tree topper.

Step 7

Glue an 8-inch piece of twine or yarn piece around the center of one of the star pieces.

Step 8

Glue the two sides of the star together, offsetting the points to make an 8-sided star.
