Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 10 mins
Total time: 20 mins
Servings: 4
Ingredients
1 (29 oz) can of chickpeas or 2 (13 oz) cans, drained and rinsed
¼ cup vegan mayonnaise (optional)
¼ cup hot sauce (we used Franks Hot Sauce)
1 Tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1 Tbsp olive oil or melted vegan butter
1 Tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)
¼ tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
¼ - ½ tsp salt
For garnish: fresh snipped chives
Instructions
Add half of the chickpeas, vegan mayonnaise, hot sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, and seasonings to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until smooth for about 30-45 seconds.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the remaining chickpeas. Stir to combine well. If you prefer a less chunky dip, then mash the chickpeas with the back of a fork before adding them to the processed chickpea mixture.
Once combined, transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with snipped chives. Serve alongside fresh vegetables and chips.
